Micro and Nanosystems

SonoTransformers: Transformable Acoustically Activated Wireless Microscale Machines.
We propose acoustically controlled soft micromachines with ultrafast transformations that leverage preprogrammed soft hinges with different stiffnesses.

We are currently developing innovative micro and nanosystems for lifescience applications.

We developed the first acoustic rotational manipulation of single cells and model organisms as inexpensive, three-dimensional (3D) imaging platforms (Nature Communications, 2016). The concept of rotation manipulation can become a powerful tool for precise 3D injections, surgery, and the characterization of the mechanical properties of bioparticles and engineered soft materials.
